Pressassociation.com: “A collection of poems, paintings and clothing belonging to the east London Kray twins will go under the hammer on Monday night.
A total of 144 lots, including Ronnie Kray’s Ray-Ban sunglasses, a signed photo from a young Patsy Kensit dedicated to Reggie Kray and the gangsters’ designer suits, will be sold by Chiswick Auctions.
Several oil paintings by Ronnie Kray will also go under the hammer. His paintings have become popular with collectors and have been steadily increasing in value. Last year, eight oil paintings by the inmate-turned-artist fetched £16,000 at an auction in Suffolk.
During the 1950s and 60s The Kray twins controlled the most notorious criminal gang seen in Britain and held a mafia-style grip over the east end of London. The Krays were jailed for life in 1969 after being convicted of the murder of underworld figure Jack “The Hat” McVitie.”
